Menu Tasting Testing : Italian Fast Food at PEPPE ROSSO (IV)

For a quick lunch in SOHO two minutes away from our appartment, we tried a tiny little restaurant called PEPPE ROSSO in Sullivan Street. Tiny because only five tables/ten seats are available to customers and no room for waiters to do the service. So, ordering, serving and checking are operated in the simpliest way : you choose the dishes hand-critten on the blackboard, order loud to the guy standing in front of the desk and pay right away. Then, after ten minutes, your plate is on the desk. The room is so little that I didn't have to stand up to pick it up... We choose two kinds of pasta : Parpadelle& Rigatoniwith a glass of Merlot Table Wine but actually quite tasty for $5.50 !. The food was really good which explains why so many people were waiting for a seat or to order to go food.

By the way, you should try their olive, red pepper and garlic oil with the genuine and very delicious free slices of bread. You just stand up, pour some in a small Mise en Place cup and go back to your table to enjoy...

Close to PEPE ROSSO in Sullivan Street, notice the tiny small butcher shop and another tiny shop selling cheeses. I feel like I am in a small village of France...
So, definitively a good place to try if you don't mind about confort. Price are quite same as in larger Italian restaurant but FOOD IS GREAT...
